SSI Open Water Diver

Become a certified Open Water Diver with SSI

This globally recognized certification program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventures as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.

The minimum age to take the SSI Open Water Diver course is 10 years old. Children aged 10–14 receive a Junior Open Water Diver certification, which requires them to dive with a professional or certified adult.

Key Requirements to Participate:
Minimum Age: 10 years old.
Water Fitness: 200m swim (no time limit) or 300m with mask, snorkel, and fins.
Water Familiarity: 10-minute treading water or floating.
Health & Medical: Successful completion of a medical statement indicating fitness for diving.
Equipment: Scuba equipment rental is included in the packages except for a mask and snorkel which you will need to purchase. All equipment is available to rent or buy in store, with help and advice from one our professional team who will help you to choose the correct fit and most appropriate equipment for your diving needs.

Administrative Requirements
Parental Approval: Children under 18 require parental/guardian consent.
Training Center: Registration with an SSI training centre and trainer.
No Prior Experience: No previous diving experience is necessary, but basic swimming ability is required.

The course consists of theory (digital material), Academic sessions, confined water training (pool), and four open water dives.
