When you complete a certain number of specialties, you’ll also automatically earn the SSI Specialty Diver, SSI Advanced Specialty Diver and SSI Master Diver ratings. These ratings display your competency and build a solid base for more adventures to come.

The SSI Advanced Specialty Diver is a recognised certification level achieved by completing four specialty courses and logging at least 24 dives. It signifies increased experience and skill beyond the Open Water level. This program is often seen as a crucial step toward the SSI Master Diver rating, offering advanced skills in areas like deep, navigation, or buoyancy.

Key Details of SSI Advanced Specialty Diver

Requirements: Complete 4 full SSI Specialty courses and log 24 total dives.

Differences between SSI Advanced Ratings

SSI Advanced Open Water : A single “taster” course focusing on five adventure dives to try different specialties, suitable for those who want a quick progression.
SSI Specialty Diver: Certification in 2 Specialty courses and log 12+ total dives.
SSI Advanced Specialty Diver: A more comprehensive level requiring full certification in 4 distinct specialties and more logged experience.
SSI Master Diver: The next level, requiring 4 Specialties + Stress & Rescue + 50 total logged dives
