Prerequisites

Age: Minimum age of 18 years.

Health: Participants must be fit for diving and provide a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.

What Can Assistant Instructors Do?

Assistant Instructors are authorized to:

• Teach academic sections and pool/confined water sessions of the Open Water Diver program.
• Evaluate surface-performed skills during open water training dives under the indirect supervision of an active-status Open Water Instructor.
• Teach and issue certifications for certain specialties, such as Perfect Buoyancy
