Who am I?

I sit there on a mild autumn morning, a cooling breeze coming from the west, a tree nearby sheds the last of its summer coat. A fresh cup of coffee in one hand my clipboard in the other I look out across the clear sparkling water to see the bubbles rising on the surface where I know my divers are finishing their training. I listen to the gentle lapping of the water on the shore, interspersed with the joyful celebrations of newly trained divers as they complete their open water courses. 'How much air have you got' I hear one of my brethren ask his charges, a smile crosses my lips at the knowledge that yet another group are safely back, it doesn't get much better than this, I am master of all I survey? I am the surface cover.

Now how about volunteering to be the surface cover for a day, as someone did for you when you learned?

The role of surface cover is just as important as the instructor or the assistant, without it nobody dives!! All you will be asked to do is maintain the dive log and keep a close eye out for our divers on the surface, in case they need assistance, all training will be given by the instructor on the day.

If you can help out then please ring Cushla at the shop or better still go in and have a cup of tea and have a chat:

Come on don't just sit there, pick up the phone!
Thank-you
